Case Summary
In 2022, a factory in Haiti known as Digneron permanently closed operations and failed to pay its 1,600 workers the severance to which they were entitled under the law. After workers filed a complaint with the WRC regarding the factory’s failure to comply with the law and with university codes of conduct, the WRC engaged with the factory’s primary buyer, Gildan, which was supplying licensed apparel to MV Sport, calling on Gildan to remedy the violations. In June 2025, Gildan made payments of more than $760,000 to the factory’s former employees. Gildan’s actions fully remedied the violations that occurred.
