Re:WRC Update: Alta Gracia Monitoring Report

I write to share with you the WRC’s most recent annual monitoring report of the Altagracia Project factory in the Dominican Republic.

As you know, in 2018, Alta Gracia Apparel was purchased by a new owner, AG Triada. We are pleased to report that AG Triada continues to operate the Altagracia factory in a manner consistent with the brand’s unique commitment to pay workers a genuine living wage and consistent with university labor standards.

During the current monitoring period, the wage earned by factory workers was more than 2.5 times the legal minimum wage in the Dominican Republic. Living wage continues to have a life-changing impact on Alta Gracia workers and their families.

This year, as in previous years, Alta Gracia factory management took prompt action to correct the small number of noncompliances identified by the WRC in the course of our ongoing monitoring of the factory’s labor practices.

The WRC will continue its robust monitoring program at the Alta Gracia factory and to keep the university community informed about developments.
